Fun food fact on eating fruit: if it has a thick skin (e.g. citrus, pineapple) the edible part is less likely to be contaminated by pesticides and other chemicals due to it’s thick outer shell, therefore making fruit such as grapes, berries, and apples more important to choose organic.
Ahhhhmazing inversions tonight in yoga. Spot on. And that wheel who’s been giving me a hard time for the past two weeks- I rocked him. To the highest heights. Take that wheel. Lately I’ve felt lethargic and depleted after class. Today I came home and did ten pirouettes.
The NYTimes published statistics from the most recent US Census stating white ethnic backgrounds are no longer the majority of births in the US. Data was compiled from a 12-month time period, up to July 2011, and found Non-Hispanic whites accounted for 46.5 percent of all births. This represents a major shift in the globalisation of America as a multi-ethnic country and will have impact on the economic, political and social future.
Malcolm Gladwell, in his 2005 book Blink: The Power of Think Without Thinkingsaid, “there can be as much value in the blink of an eye as in the months of rational analysis”. I consider myself a very rational AND analytical thinker but I agree with Gladwell in the sense that there are some decisions we make with very little thinking which turn out to be our best decisions in life. I’m feeling that way today, having made a spontaneous decision about how and where to spend my weekend. And I couldn’t be happier :-)
